Thank you for partnering with Journey Church in ministry. You can make your gift now to Journey Church, using either a debit/credit card or you can also set up a recurring payment to be drawn at regular intervals from your checking account, or from a debit/credit card.

2. Automated Bank Debit

Automated Bank Debit is the easiest and most effective way to automate your giving. Once it is set up, you may update or change your giving at any time by simply contacting H.O.M.E.S., Inc.’s office. Plus, 100% of your gift goes to the to H.O.M.E.S., Inc. because there are no processing fees.

Funky Flamingo 2nds was founded by H.O.M.E.S., Inc. as an avenue to help post-foster care and relative care youth. Designed to serve as a model of community economic development: a hub for jobs & job training for the young adults aged out of state foster care & relative care residing in our Supportive Housing Project/Program (most of whom were homeless before coming to our apartments), as well as eliminating blight, creating a new small business & a business service to residents in a transitional area.

Located at NE 6^th Ave. & NE 13^th St. in the Middle River Terrace area of Fort Lauderdale, the Funky Flamingo 2nds resale shop was designed to serve as a model of community economic development:  a hub for jobs & job training for the young adults aged out of state foster care & relative care residing in our Supportive Housing Project/Program (most of whom were homeless before coming to our apartments), as well as eliminating blight, creating a new small business & a business service to residents in a transitional area.

This project was made possible through a number of community grants and partnerships.  These include building renovation funds (City of Fort Lauderdale: CDBG-R), funding for the Resale Shop Manager & the Job Coaching & Paid Internship Program Director (City of Ft. Lauderdale: CDBG), start-up costs (Salah Foundation), and funding to pay youth salaries during their internships (Jim Moran Foundation & Community Foundation of Broward).  H.O.M.E.S. is currently collecting quality used home furnishings, accessories, art work, etc.., which will be either sold in the new store, or used to furnish apartments for our youth. Local businesses participate in our internship program, furnishing meaningful work experiences to our youth (with the youth being paid from our grants).

Profits from the resale store will be used in programs and projects carrying out H.O.M.E.S. charitable mission in Broward County – including our supportive housing program for former foster youth.
